Repeat performance

In retrospect, we probably should have identified a couple of hundred of the most radical and dangerous and "disappeared" them (maybe framing the Russians for it, or maybe letting it be unofficially known that it was us).

The we should have picked the most relatively moderate ones and propped them up as the government on the understanding that we didn't much care what they did in their own back yard, but if they &^%$ed with us, they were dead men.

But of course, hindsight is 20/20, and it would have been impossible to do that just as the Cold War was ending and the American people decided that the world didn't matter anymore so we might as well elect Bill Clinton. 9/28/01 FreeRepublic
